Question Annoying "Check Gas Cap" message

All,

My '04 X5 4.4i (CPO warranty) keeps getting this annoying "Check Gas Cap" message on hotter days (around 95 degrees here at my new base in Idaho). The cap is on tight and has been replaced...

I didn't realize that you could replace the steering wheel roundel. Thought is cast/molded in as one piece. How tough/easy is that? (If you don't mind me asking...)

I've read in the owner's manual that if there a power interuption or other similar issue when operating the pano roof, it will need to be reset. Unfortunately the folks that do this (per the manual)...
