So that is your problem, it is still coded for the car it came out of. You need to find somebody to code the TV module with INPA (?) the aftermarket coding equipment, or a BMW device such as an OPS....

40 amps is a bit weak and it wouldn't hurt to run a few more volts. BMW now spec 80 amps, but 40 would proably be ok for an E53. My charger does 14.8V @70 amps from memory.
