Ok Tom, I finaly found what the problem was. This X3 had the CD changer connector unplugged from the back of the radio so that had to get plugged in and now its working perfectly.

Tom , i have not removed my head unit yet but as a question if in case this X3 does have DSP by locating the #2 12 pin adapter can i just keep that second 12 pin connector connected to the head unit...

Yeah that is what i was trying to get at, i tried this same unit on my car and it worked so it has to be something wrong with the X3 itself b/c it works on my 330
