I think the AU$125 is for the map & software update, not just the personalised screen.
At least I paid $125 for everything: new 2010 map, removed "accept" page, personalised startup screen,...

Try locking the doors & leave the car for 15...
Try locking the doors & leave the car for 15 mins, allow it to go to sleep. Then unlock, open boot, press & hold eject for 3 mins then release & immediately re-press. It worked for me, several times...
