Thanks very much. I will check the center pin. Is it on the unit itself or in the cable? If in the unit, what if it is damaged? What is my remedy? Can the antenna connector itself be replaced?

In the stock mid-range speaker location. I have a 2001 M5, so there is an unused speaker grill located in the upper part of each front door. But you can put it just about anywhere.
