You have a "Performance" muffler with M sport pack. You may have seen the brochures for BMW perfromance products (brakes, suspension etc.).

V8 burble
no argument there on the sound. The V8 burble is incredible and so is the low note inside the car.

delirious on gas fumes....
Our E70 4.8 sport has been a good car. Basically reliable. Pretty comfortable (took off the run flats) and a good drive considering its weight and size. BUT...I simply cannot stomach the gas...

Gas here in CT fluctuates between $4.19 to $4.55 and the 11-12 average dips into single digits when exclusively in town. I feel like a 'dumb' American not ever giving mileage a thought before buying...
