Screen Blanking in Nav Box while tuning radio

Is it normal in a 2006 X3 (on half screen) with map mode up, changing tuner frequency, the map box goes black, until I push the map/radio select button? I did update to ver 31, and am using 2009...

Connecting to iDrive through OBDII connection

Does anyone know if I can connect up with iDrive using my OBD-II cable connected with my computer, or is the engine/car computer isolated from each other? Thanks.
