I can't see why it would be worn. I don't take the CD out often. I think it was probably just a bum drive unit?

By the way, I could not load the OS, as my unit does not want to accept any CD/DVD. I tried inserting it, but it does not accept! There is nothing in the drive, as I've had to manually remove the map...

Ok, so I've downloaded OS image, wrote to CD using Imgburn @ 4X. Tried to insert CD into drive...no can do! The drive does not want to accept anything, not OS CD or original road map CD. What now?...
