On my E39, when the jet pump failed, I would run out of gas at ~40%. There was gas in one side but the jet wouldnt pump it across....


Are you sure the jet pump is OK?

FWIW...those parts were molded new by BMW using defective resins..these parts crumbled and failed. Whole sections would break off. Perhaps a prior owner pulled the debris off to make it less...

IMO, when you have worn out sensors, trying to do 'rifle shot' diagnoses seems .... foolish. Maybe he gets lucky, but most of the published work on these oddball diagnoses and fixes tend to be done...
