doesn't take a full-throttle punch to get the smoke; medium throttle will do it too. I first noticed it while annoyingly sitting in traffic. Pulling away & seeing the smoke for the first time.

yes on the 911 as I own two air cooled cars, but when checking to top-off your X5's oil on a 102 degree day, do so when the engine's hot, not cold. It will register a difference.

My Indy stated they couldn't do it. So the $1200+ BMW units come coded but the $511 new Bosch units dont?

Can anyone elaborate on this please?

Thanks, I'll look into that too...probably the easiest thing to do is to try another DSC/ABS unit and see if that clarifies things...I'm wondering...

I thought there was a breather pump besides the CCV to help scavenge oil & vapor from infiltrating the intake.

My X5 lost the alternator and in the midst I now have two dead speed sensors on the driver's side, causing all sorts of DSC/ABS codes & sometimes jerking the steering wheel around when a sensor...

I'm beginning to think my mechanic slightly over-filled my engine by 1/2-3/4 quart or so. Will drain and fresh-fill tonight. Bought new CCV's to install just to be sure all basics have been covered....
