Not correct. BMW's parts warranty is 2 years unlimited mileage providing the part was purchased from an authorized BMW dealer. It does not matter who does the installation thought I am sure...

Given that it is an armored vehicle I would expect the brakes to be larger. As you say - test fitting is your best option if you don't want to take your dealer at their word (which I wouldn't).
