Just did my '03 today...cold weather was the nail in the coffin for the old battery. Cost me $135 after the core charge from Checker/O'Reilly. This job was fairly easy...I didn't cuss much.

You aren't alone. My driver's side went out and had it replaced. Could have done it myself but paid a mechanic $200 parts and labor.

Instrument Cluster Pixel Fix (beware)

My experience: I have an '03 X5 4.4i with nav. The non-working pixels were driving me nuts so i tried the 'fix' from the Tips and Tricks section.

It went from bad to worse. I now have more...
