Tried just letting the lid go the last 5-10 inches but that does not work either. A semi hard slam is what it takes but still it does not shut every single time. Just have to live with it I guess....

Thanks a lot for the advice, came right off after some violence and swearing. It was the airbag warning light that could rattle a bit. Some 3M tape and now it should be forever silent.

Did you ever find a decent priced part? the part costs $100 in Sweden which I think is a bit sttep. Will see if I can glue it together first (must not look fixed, if so I will swap it if I mess up).
