I have a 2001 x5 4.4 that had a slipping problem in reverse only and that was when it was cold. That was about 3 months ago and it only lasted about 10 seconds. The other day it was slipping so bad...

I have a 2001 4.4 with shifting problems..Mine stays in a lower gear, longer before shifting up. At 75mph the Tach.is at about 3500 rpms and then after a bit it WILL up shift. This doesn't act up all...

2001 4.4 X5 DOESN'T UP-SHIFT TO HIGH GEAR AT TIMES
When starting out it will shift up but, not all the time. Warm or cold engine Temp. or ambiant Temp. doesn't have a thing to do with how it acts.
The longest it works correctly is about 30 Min. or...
