I took my 07 X3 in a couple of weeks ago with the same complaint as you. I also was told that it was normal. The tech said it was the just the sound of the differential loading and...

I have CPO 07 with 32K miles that I bought 2 weeks ago. I dismissed the noise on my test drive as everything else was perfect including color, condition and options.

Now the noise...
