Just an update to this saga. The transmission started getting worse. It still lurched, bucked or surged but now I was seeing it at 37mph and 67 mph ONLY in 5th gear regardless of D/S/M selector...

It might have something to do with the TC but it is hard to see any RPM fluctuation. The feeling is as if it is locking and unlocking.

BTW, 6th is as high or higher load that 5th.

How about filing noise/nusiance complaint with your local town? Where I'm at, they send out someone to verify and then leave a letter for the owners to respond or face fine. Gets their attention...
