Spare wheel

Morning to all.

I have two identical sets of wheels / tyres for my E70. Both are:- rear 315 35 20 & front 275 40 20.
If I carry one of the 275 40 20's with me as a spare on a long journey, will...

I've got a feeling that this is not a recommended course of action as the centre bore is different. I think you can obtain adapters but some folks are dubious about their use.
I'm sure someone else...

I have just noticed recently that when I turn the engine off - 2008 3.0sd auto - the Sat Nav screen 'fades away' pixel by pixel over about five to ten seconds rather than just turning black at one...

I now have an E70 with 20 inch wheels (214's) and also a nearly new spare set of 19 inch 132's from my E53.
What are the chances of increasing the centre bore of the 132's to match that of the 214's...

Thanks. So I assume that if the bore is increased to 74.1 then, if the ET is OK - which it looks as if it is - my old 132 style wheels should be fine for an E70.

Sorry if this has come up before, I had a search with no success.

Can anyone tell me if the stud PCD is the same for the E53 and E70. I suspect they are both 5 x 120 but can't confirm it...

Ah - thanks for reminding me - must get a jack. I will have 20" wheels and the diameter of those is 9mm less than a spare made up of an 18" 209 with 255 55. I'm hoping it won't foul things up too...

I had the 'Transmission failsafe' sign up the other day. THe whole car shut down, engine stopped etc. It started again a few minutes later but the car was taken in to the dealer by BMW Emergency...
