Same thing happens with ours... can't remember the brand/model but it wasn't cheap. It's secure as can possibly be... but she just flops her head forward and to the side and damn near chokes herself...

Yes of course red is stronger than blue... that's why you typically need a torch to get it off... which is why I suggested blue.

FYI I installed the (2nd) alternator today and all is well. Knock on wood. PS... sometimes even rebuilt alternators are junk... thank goodness for returns.

Oh ps... I have an oil cooler. I think I have the only GD 4.4 in the state with an oil cooler... and it looks like it's no actually the alternator bracket that is leaking but every dan oil line...
