No it did not. The idler pulley has nothing to do with the AC. Its function is... well, just spinning around with the belt. Sounds like you might have a problem with your AC fan.

Does anyone know how to release the tension on the AC belt? The serpentine belt has a belt tensioner but on this, it's just the AC wheel connected to the crank. I'm assuming it's somewhere...
