Personally, I didnt prep my PD just cleaned it and it's held up well especially my rims which I've had since about January. Also if I were you if you have Imola Red I would go gloss black.

How come you didn't like how the roof rails turned out? When I got my roof sprayed gloss black I told the guy to spray the roof rails as well because mine were also faded and mine turned out great!
