I know tire pressure is monitored....however....and please correct me if I am wrong....but as I understand it is not "measured" in a way one might assume it would...

The O-Ring is potentially suspect........it will hold when the coolant is warm and drain when cold.

In a word......yes........a special tool is required to crimp the new bands/clamps.

Autozone has a (low quality) tool in the less...

The oil filter packaging depicted below (N62) has been typical from my local BMW parts...

I did however hit the redline a few times..........in thee BMW Performance Center (similarly equipped) provided X when I took delivery at the plant....

Considering selling the X.

The X does not get out as much as it used to (last 14 months or so).....but when it does, I do try to make it a 50 + mile run...including 16 miles on I95...
