I replaced the one in my 03 3.0 with the behr unit. The actual part number is BEH-351300631, the BMW pn is the same as the one you posted. It seemed to fit perfectly.

The general rule of thumb with heim joints is that you don't run them on a street car. Those joints get damaged when they fill with road debris which can lead to a failure.
