@homerlovesbeer yes it does, only really notice it occasionally in a drive thru or under very very light acceleration, anything more then that the noise goes away and the car sounds normal.

That would be great if you can find out any more information! The only adjustments that I have seen you can do to the valvetronic system is to reset the adaptations/position values with a bmw scanner...

Yea not worth the headache is it bad that to switch between octanes of fuel because next fill up is going to be premium and I have been using mid grade for the last 6 months

What octane gas do you use?

Yea my 4.4 shifts pretty slow i guess the only real way to solve this and make it shift faster is software or a tune.
