E53 climate control AC problem - Need help!

Automatic lights questions

Hi, I have a 2001 X5 3.0d

I got the car used about 3 years ago. Its good automatic wipers and Xenon lights but no automatic switch on lights.

I had a hunch that the light switch was replaced...

Help! Fuel level issue

When I bought my 2001 X5 3.0D 2 years ago it had an issue where when the fuel level goes below 1/4 level it starts acting as though there is a lack of fuel like difficulty starting etc..

It’s fixed now. I took it to the BMW dealership workshop and they replaced the steering angle sensor and recoded it.

I think they used to work until one of the rear...

I think they used to work until one of the rear door panels was removed to repair the window regulator. If one goes would they all go ?

I have the same issues. My X5 is a 2001 3.0 diesel. I bought it a year ago and it had the same problem as you when the engine gets to normal temp it starts throwing oil pressure warnings when idling....

Damn! So I replaced the air-con auxiliary fan...

Damn! So I replaced the air-con auxiliary fan with a brand new BMW one. It solves the AC problem but not the oil pressure warnings.

I also changed the oil to 10/40 instead of 5/30. Didn't solve...

I read on multiple forums that a failed AUX fan has cause the oil pressure warnings to come up on various BMW's including E36's, X5's and 5 series's.

In fact mine has failed - It won't start up...

The fan on mine doesn't switch on either. My AC blows cold air but it's strange, sometimes it freezes and sometimes it's ok but not how it should and other times for a bit it would do no cold at all.

Interior door handle lights not working

They used to work but not anymore. These are the little lights on all four interior door handles on my 2001 E53 X5.

Anyone have an idea what I can check ? Is there a way to accidentally...

That could be it, but it only seems to give out the warning when the temperature gauge is half way and the engine is idling and in drive and even then it doesn't do it right away.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it but...

I don't know if it has anything to do with it but the AUX fan (of the AC) does not work AT ALL but I still use the AC and it blows cold air like it is supposed to.

Stop Engine Oil Pressure! Warning

When the engine gets up to temperature especially on hot days I get the Stop Engine Oil Pressure warning. It seems to do it when I'm stuck in traffic and idling especially when it is still in DRIVE....
