That was what I originally tried to do. I actually cut off the old LED and wired the new one to the existing wires with wire nuts. But it must not be providing 12V of power or maybe I was just not...

I appreciate it...if you have time. I did actually google the software. Looks useful, but quite expensive! I don't know if I want to spend that much on software just to try and brighten up my ambient...
