The lifepo4 batteries crank great even down deep into the negative temps. They won't charge till the battery gets over 32F but they are very powerful for cold cranking.

Well Ive got over 40 vehicles with agm batteries in them and the only ones that had short lifespans with the agm batteries were my bmw's with the hair brained battery computers.

Unplug the battery computer (ibs) at the battery and leave it unplugged from now on. It should charge it slap full and solve the problem. It solved all of mine.

Actually all I see is just a tad over 82% which is wonderful... for a lithium battery. Not for an agm or lead acid battery.


Having done solar setups for several years I don't want to see those...

I just like old school charge the freaking battery. I expect the battery to be fully charged when I turn the vehicle...

Maybe not. I think the goal of this was more epa/mpg cheating. Just like the stupid cutting the motor off at a stop. Just a way to cheat the mpg numbers.


With a diesel they don't have the same...

I figured I would share my experiences with bmw's stupid battery charging scheme.

This only effects models that have the alternator that is controlled by the dme.

I did the led stuff on my e70 and all worked ok...

I did the led stuff on my e70 and all worked ok except the doom light which flickers when dimming. I may convert that one back to normal bulbs one day. Led bulbs just dont dim out very well.

One thing I recommend for anyone that stores their cars over the winter or in the case of my bmw's just wants to make sure they stay charged when not used for weeks at a time is the magcode...
