I ended up having to trim the section of the lip that slots onto the factory 4.4...

I am in the same boat, facelift X5 and got a 4.6is front spoiler, however even after trimming tabs it does not sit near flush on the lower bumper. It doesn't seem wide enough...

Eh...I really don't think the 3.0 will give you too many issues imo. Sure all X5s will have the suspension and other quirks but the 3.0 is fairly stout as compared to timing guide issues of the M62...
