Could i have somehow accidentally pit it into transport mode then ? Or when it was plugged in to scanner last accidentally put it into transport mode?

Im not sure on how old the rest of the parts in the system are

Have you taken a manifold off of one of these before?
It looks like the steering column may pose a problem it just looks really tight for space to bring it down...
