this is my first car that an ac compressor has went out... then again, i only drove an average of 5000 miles a year on my old car and its only above freezing 3 months of the year... im attributing it...

your ac compressor is probably shot. mine went out last month, scan tool shows a passenger jbe compressor error. for what its worth, i would get a new idler pulley and belt if your replacing, cheap...
