I have the same issue with my '01 3.0 108k miles....

I have the same issue with my '01 3.0 108k miles. From my research, the two main issues that cause the whislte noise is the elbow intake tube or the DISA valve aka the intake adjustor. part #7

If you adjust it lower the wiper blade will hit the hood when it wipes down. That high setting is totally normal.

Anyone have their thrust arm bushings replaced?

I was quoted $1200 (parts and labor) from an indy shop to replace all four thrust arm bushings on my 2001 3.0 X5

From your expieriences is this price fair or high? It seems a little high to me.
