I'm not sure what to tell you. This was the same ISO image I used to update mine. You can try using ImgBurn or UltraISO. MagicISO will allow you to burn in Mode 2, but you shouldn't have to do...

Mode 2. I used ImgBurn to look at the properties of the CD I burned off the MDF/MDS, it is Mode 2. Only those that I modified or re-saved got converted to Mode 1.

The MDF in the .rar file is 302,328,432 bytes.

Buring the MDF using UltraISO, value properties taken from Windows XP:
Reported data size: 262,203,354
Size on disc: 262,672,384 (cluster size)...
