That many things wrong with only 50k miles is not normal. At least not in my rather extensive BMW experience. My previous X5 had literally no issues until it went over 100k. My 530i had zero issues...

Looks like I bought a lemon.

Picked up a CPO 2005 X5 at the end of September with 50k miles. Here's the repair list so far.

New windshield (air leak) - Covered by the dealer

Thumbs up The value of sites like these cannot be overstated.

My new (to me) 05 X5 has (had) an issue with the left mirror. When I hit reverse, it would tip down, then up, then down, and then stop halfway. When I shifted back to drive, it would come up a bit,...

Question Carfax questions

Looking at this 2005 X5. (http://www.isringhausen.com/Inventory/2005/BMW/X5-Series/VehicleID/2892) The price is ok and with the trade on my current '03 X5, it's easily affordable. I'd be losing 100k...

My kingdom for a decent indie.

About a year and a half ago I took the X5 to a recommended indie for suspension bits. He replaced the control arms and tie rods, and rotors and pads. That temporarily solved my front end wobbles....

Weird turn of events on this. My indie says they charged the battery and it holds a charge no problem. He says there's nothing wrong with it and that I must have left something on to drain it over...

Yeah, I have no problem if it's just an old battery. That I can replace. It's just weird that it died so quickly and with no warning. At least it was sitting in my driveway at the time.

Exclamation Battery died over night

The X5 ran fine yesterday. Last night the alarm went off for no apparent reason. Went out tonight to head out to a show and the car wouldn't start. Barely got half a crank and then it all went dead....

Thanks, JCL. So if I move the seat and it doesn't return to my position (Memory #1), I guess I'll know what the deal is. Even that doesn't really matter as I'm the only one who drives it.

Not sure why this is happening, but in the last couple of days the steering wheel only raises an inch or so when I shut it down. Even if I use the adjuster it will only move an inch. I like it all...
