Looks like febi and vdo. I used knock off brand AIP from Amazon when I didn't want to wait and fully expected I'd be replacing soon but itt lasted until we traded in the car.

You can try also to turn it slightly without the screw. (wrap with Teflon tape to make snug). That can effectively make the sensor closer to the ring.

The sensor comes in parallel to the side of the bearing and reads from the side. Are you saying there is something at the bottom of the hole in which case yes fish that out.

The bearing is black plastic on the side where the sensor senses. It's the weather seal but also has metal reluctor ring inisde it.

FYI OEM bearing from Fcpeuro is not expensive also lifetime warranty I think was under $50.

I would so some crossover tests before swapping the bearing again.

You can try to install with the screw missing so you can slightly misalign the end on purpose but you have to be careful you don't actually rub on the Bearing.
