If you don't have factory NAV, most of these Android units require cutting of the bracket the hold the stock CD. ...

Looks like a decent upgrade. Does this unit require any cutting of the OE bracket? It would be fantastic if no cutting is required if and when I need to go back to the OE CD/HID combo!

The flashlight socket in the glove compartment is switched power. This is what I use to power my dashcam via a cigarette lighter adapter that BMW used to sell (not sure if it's still available).

My experience mirrors yours. Putting in 8 quarts put me to the midpoint of the dipstick. So, I'll add 1/2 a quart more if I wanted to bring it to the full mark.
