Time to limit sig file sizes (height)
 

the sig file heights for some users are getting so huge that sometimes only a few posts per display page are shown.

Might be time for a new guideline limiting heights to a set # of pixels.

Are you sure it limits posts per page? I have my posts per page set to 40 and it is never less than that. Signatures are only shown in the user's first post in the thread, not on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.

ok, specifically, it's that your sig and a few others take up 1/2 a screen when reading threads, regardless of how many times it's shown, when multiple people post for the first time in a thread and all have huge sig's, it's just a bit annoying (my monitors are in 1280x1024 too!). Not a big deal, just a thought. (your sig takes up 3/4's of a display page btw... )

Yeah, I figured you were talking about mine. It will decrease to less than half the size at the end of this month. So, deal with it for 4 more weeks. :nanana: :D

I was just using yours as an example, not picking on you. There are others with the same issue.

Whatever you want to do is fine, just using this part of the forum as it was intended :) (It's still annoying though, just for the record. And even 1/2 is still a sig file that fills a 1/4 of a 1280x1024 screen, most sites limit sigs to ~ 200x50 pixels, there are some on here that are more than quadruple that)

I stand corrected, your sig takes up over 3/4's of a 1280x1024 screen. :rolleyes:
