I'm having problems accessing the website

Ever since the update, I've been having problems connecting to the server through the browser. A lot of times, the connection times out, or if it does connect, it happens after 20-30s and the page loads slowly. Sometimes all is well though.

**Here's the thing though: when i let it ping x5world through dos for like 2min, i don't have any dropped packets and my times average around 40ms. What's up?

We'll be moving the site over to a dedicated server very soon, which will hopefuly care for all of these performance issues. Up to this point we have been on a shared server plan, and another site that shares the server isn't playing nicely in the sandbox. That and the fact that we have been growing at a very fast pace accelerated our plans to get everything onto its own dedicated server. More details to follow...

I think the problem might be is with vBulletin 3.5.x
I'm assuming that you open a bunch of sites at once? I do that, and half the sites I open will time out. It's a feature to prevent flooding out.

eh,i've got 5 vbulletin sites up 24x7 practically and hvae no issues....

make sure you have all of the latest microsoft updates, and do a IPCONFIG /flushdns from a DOS prompt.... see if that helps.

What version are they running? I also run a few vBulletin sites and I first noticed the 'Timing Out Issue' with 3.5.x when I started a test forum to try out a bunch of hacks.

I also noticed connectivty issues in the afternoon. It took forever to load page.

So I guess the problem was with the site itself and wasn't the security feature built in.

this has to do with the migration that is happening.

there will be an announcement, shortly regarding anticipated downtime tomorrow nite as we move to a new dedicated server.

bear with us... we'll be zipping along very shortly!
