Cracked wheel safe to ride on for a bit?

Picked up a set of 20" replica wheels with decent tires for $440 (600 initially before seeing the cracks) .I have a guy that can weld and powder coat for $110 a wheel. Both rears are cracked on the inside lip 1 inch long.

I'll be test fitting them to make sure all is good before getting them fixed and wondering if its ok to drive on them till i get it fixed.
Ill try to add a pic to show it soon..

I think that's unsafe. While driving, the crack may open up then the air escape out and the tire just blow out from the rim. Worse scenario, the tire rip off, then you lost control of the car. If I were you, I will not use that rim.

Yeah i dont plan on riding on them till they are welded up and fixed correctly.
Im just going to mount them this weekend, make sure nothing rubs and then send them to get fixed.

I don't know if it is safe or not, but people do drive on wheels with cracks like that all of the time.

You may ask like the tire company (Firestone, Goodyear and others) if they want to install a tire with cracked rim. I don't think so, they don't even give a tire warranty because it's their liability. Here in my location, they don't instead they advise you to get a new or a serviceable rim before they install the tire. I have the same experienced before with a cracked rim.

Just kurious what did you end up doing.
I would never drive on a cracked wheel or even get one repaired.
Too much risk for me....

LOL. If you look up some wheel forsale threads, that poster that sells used tires, he drove on wheels with cracks held together with duct/mastic (hvac) tape so I suppose to each their own

I havent gotten them repaired yet but i will and most likely paint them versus powder coating.
I seen worse wheels repaired so these should be no problem, showed the repaid guy the pic and he said it will be like new. I will most likely get these done by Fall and use them next spring. I will update with pics once its done.

Really dangerous. Yep.

Im selling these to someone who is willing to get the cracks fixed and use them. I will be getting a new set of 22" with tires spring time with the money i got from selling all 3 sets of wheels i had in my garage :)
