Who here has had both Advans and Diamaris
Summer shoes are coming off today.
Brrrrr......been so busy I didn't get a chance to switch out tires till this week and my fingers are gonna pay the price ;-) I've got a whole winter to polish, etc the wheels back to spec. Need new tars though. Dunno if JMH is the only peep on this board who has, but I'm looking for feedback on the Advans as opposed to the Diamaris. For those that are familiar with both tires, tread life, ride quality, etc, love to hear some feedback. |
You also now have another choice, the Michelin Lattitude available w/440 treadwear rating and in 315/35/20 and 275/40/20 sizes. I know soneone on here bought them but i haven't seen anyone report back on how they like em...seems from what I've read they may be the best bet for treadlife, ride quality etc. It will not be as good as the diamaris for ultimate dry grip. Just thought you might want to know...

jmh (Janix) had Diamaris and he moved to Advan. He likes Advan better.

Well technically I have had both, although I only rode on the Michelins for a few months...Yokos are much better in my opinion especially in the dry but very good in the wet as well.

My strong opinion - do NOT get the Mich's in ANY amount of snow. The tree/bush at the end of my street will tell you more. I got some proxes s/t's and it was like night/day in every way - no road rut syndrome, half the price, good on snow (even wide 315's) grip in the rain, look awesome... supposedly wear badly but I haven't seen anything yet (1 yr)

I've had both and the Advans are definitely the way to go.... They have better tread life, a stronger sidewall, a more aggressive stance, and the ride is a lot better.

:iagree:
the Advans are definitely the way to go!! |
Good to know. I am due for tires in the upcoming weeks. I was torn between the Latitude and the Advan S.T. and I think I will go with the Advan especially for living down here in S. Fl.

Have any of you tried the Pirelli P-zero?
I have them and I love them. They're awesome in both wet and dry and so far in the little bit of snow we got I haven't been compelled to change them for my snow tires. I had the Michelins before this and I can honestly say the price difference was well worth the money. |
I didn't think about the Pirelli. I need to do some research on these.
xxx, how many miles do you have on yours? Have they gotten any louder over time? How are they wearing? Curtis |
I had diamaris and now have had the Advans for about 3 months. Totally feel the difference on smoothness, quietness & I even gained about 2mpg. I'm assuming that the increase in mpg may be due to the diamaris being on their last leg. Either way, I definitely recommend the Advans.
