What kind of tires for the X?
 

Can we get non "SAV" type tires? Can we replace the stock 40/35 series combo with something with a lower profile? I think I would like to run same tires all around to limit the car push and rotate tires. I looked at the Rack but it's difficult to find sizes available in 20's.
EDITL I found proxes cheap... in 295/30x20. Looks like 295/35's would be very close to stock height though.

You can wait for the experts response but IMO you're ride will be horrible if you change your tire that drastically. Different dimensions with different composition and weight limits....OUCH.

Most here that run 20s rave about the Mich D's or Pirellis.

I see you are in CO, but you won't get an all season 20 that
does "summer driving" justice or, works in snow in the winter, imo.

No drive on show. By SAV-type I meant performance tires which can handle 5,000 lbs of abuse.

I can advise you the Pirelli PZERO Rosso (NOT Scorpion that doesn't exist in 20') tested on my 4.6is : very sporty tyres, much better than the Diamaris, even on the wet :thumbup:

I wanted to try the Yokohama Advan ST, but weren't available on my island.

If you look for mileage, I think the best choice and compromise is the Diamaris. PZero last around 10'000 miles as Diamaris would make twice that distance for me.

Ok so I guess there's no real issue running a "regular" street tire on our cars . I guess that makes somewhat sense. Now the question is what size, there really isn't much choice around 315/35 and 275/40. I wouldn't mind tires with a lower profile (don't care about how harsh the ride is) and wider front size (to limit the push).

PZERO Rosso exists with standard 315/35 and 275/40 dimensions.

Try to ask for the Michelin Latitude Sport. I've seen these on the Michelin web site and asked for it here... it seems like they are 'reserved for US market'.

When I was looking for tyres, I found a good choice in those dimensions... but don't know if you can have those brands in the US : Continental, Goodyear (hope you can :rofl: ), Yokohama...

I wonder whether a 19" wheel with lower profile tire would look good? It would drop the overall height of the car by quite a bit.

You better buy springs and shocks while your up or else this thing is going to look like a big wagon.
