Brakes replaced at 33K km

Hi,

My breaks had to be replaced at 33K km. I was really surprised since I was expecting more like 70K. In addition they replaced both pads and rotors. I replaced it within few days the indicator went off. Is this normal? What is your experience?

Thanks,

V

you sure you didn't break your brakes to be replaced that early...breaks the bank replacing your brakes....

I did front brakes at 38,000 km. Rears went longer. It is normal to do pads and rotors at the same time. Those are the breaks.

That is low...I replaced my fronts at 30,000 miles

My '01 front brakes went to 46K miles, and rear brakes are holding on
with 58K miles.

Depends a TON on how you drive your vehicle. Especially with a ride of 5,000+ pounds. Stop and go traffic and continuously slamming the brakes can burn them up. Everybody thinks "I'm easy on my brakes" well, not if you're roasting them at 33Km.

My front brakes needed to bre replaced at 30K due to a frozen caliper. I just replaced the rears at 44K

I drive very efficiently with my 2001 4.4i, have pulled an 8,300 pound GVWR travel trailer for over 30,000 miles, have over 90,000 miles on the vehicle AND I still am on the ORIGINAL BRAKES which look to last at least another 10,000 miles. My other vehicle is a Suzuki GSX1300R "Hayabusa", so I'm not exactly a conservative person; I just drive efficiently, i.e. I watch traffic flow, plan WAY ahead for stop lights, gear down (the transmission would do so anyway when slowing with the brakes) rather than rush up to a stop breaking hard at the last second.

I'm over 76K miles with the original break pads/rotors. Just had the X serviced at 75K miles. The Tech said the pads fine and declined my request replace them.
