New Tires
I need advice on replacement tires for my 2003 X5 3.0. The OEM tires are the Michelin Energy MXV4+ with 55,000 miles. These are great tires but replacements are very hard to find and I suspect they are being discontinued. I would hate to buy these tires and then not be able to by a single replacement tire if one is damaged.

I am happy with my Bridgestone Turanzas. Tire Rack has them as one of the lower priced options and they are getting top ranks.

Try Toyo Proxes tires too.

I agree they seem to have been replaced by the latitudes.
If you want the same tires, they are a dime a dozen on craigslist. Yes, you will also want winter tires, all seasons just don't cut it in the winter (snow or ice, essentially below 40 degrees). |
Seasons? What are these seasons you speak of?
:D Sorry sometimes I forget, mainland weather is a bit different. |
You' re right, they were discontinued 2 years ago.
Direct replacement (but improved in a few factors) are the Michelin Latitude Tour (also M+S, like the MXV4). I have them for 8,000Km (5 months), used them in bad conditions (Snow, ice, -20oC, trip from Greece-Austria) and I' very happy with them... |
Thanks to all. I live in Connecticut and definitely need an all season. The Lattitudes sound like the tire I need.

Thanks for the tip guys. Will keep you updated when I start hearing any load noises on my tires.
