Tire Replacement 01 X5, 4.4i
Hello all,
I have to replace my tires on my 01' 4.4i with the sports package and need some help. I have the Michelin 4x4 Diamaris 285/45 19 on the back tires and unfortunately have a nail puncture the side wall in two places. considering the cost of michelin tires, do you think it would be a good idea to go with different brand and if so, any ideas? Or, should i just cough up the cash and get the original michelin tires! Also, can someone tell me what how many average miles I should be able to get out of the michelin diamaris? I do want to mention that I purchased my X5 back in march and I LOVE everything about it. Thanks |

When BMW ran the X5 LM (Le Mans Motor, one off prototype) around Nurburing (sp) and did it in under 8 minutes, they were on 19" stock Diamaris tires. (The rest of the vehicle was pretty much stock as well.) They are a very capable tire and have been a great performer for myself both above and below 3 digits. Quite a few people are moving to the Vredestein Sessanta tire and love it. I will probably go that way on my next change. 20-30k so much depends on driving style, rear wheel camber and caster settings etc. There are people here with more knowledge than I, hopefully they can confirm or improve upon my recommendation. |
thank you, what do you think of the toyo proxes s/t?

I just ordered the Ultrac SUV Sessanta's to replace the Diamaris' as my new summer setup.....
$930 including shipping/mount & balance I have the Wintrac Xtreme's winter tires from Vredestein and you could climb a tree with them, they are quiet and have great snow traction. |
