Possible Tire Size for E53

I am ready to purchase stlye 214 replicas for my E53 2005 X5 3.0. I have been reading that all put on 275-40/-20 front tires and 315-35/-20 rear tires on them. Living in NY I am concerned about the low profile of the tires with the conditions of the roads here. Would I be able to go with 275-40-20 on the fronts and 295-40-20 on the rears without any mods or problems? Input would be appreciated....thanks

You cannot go away from the OEM size if you want staggered as 275/40R20 and 315/35R20 have the same rolling diameters. 295/40R20 will have a larger rolling diameter than 275/40R20...you'll be looking at a new transfer case if you do that combo.

Hey Guys Check this out!

A good site for any one interesting in doing tires upgrade or downgrade.
As for me, I will be doing 265/50/20frnt and 295/45/20rr. It might not look that low profile, but I live in NY and that's another set up BMW came up with for people like me.

Hope it helps some of you as it did me.
