snow tires?

What do you guys think of these for 17" snow tires? they are better than or on par with many more expensive tires according to tirerack. So what do you think? If not these, then please make me a recommendation...

Bridgestone Blizzak DM-Z3

Very good tire, by the stats and, I ran similar Blizzaks for many winter seasons
back in NY. The do wear on dry pavement, during those days/weeks of no
snow down in the tropics of Manhattan...you must be doing a lot of running
to NewEngland/upstate NY? Not needed in NYC/boroughs, imo.

nope no running anywhere... i was told by many members that i should get a set of snow tires and rims because i currently have the sport 19" rims with Michelen diamaris which are summer tires...

so what do you say? a set of snow or no?

Depends...many NYC/Tri-state members here, that don't get out of the metro area
during winter, report few days when they are limited in "season". You might wait for
some of their responses, and I have no idea of your winter driving "needs". Seems
like an expense and wheel banging process for a potential dozen days of real snow
in "nyc", imo. The Blizzaks are titz, however...

thanks for the response!

other option (or a necessity) would be to buy a winter car with winter tires.

i agree, but be careful of some backlash from this suggestion.
