Sugestion on Tires For Rav 4
The Yokohama 225-65-17 are wearing out at 30,000 miles on my daughters Rav 4. I want to replace them with another set of all season tires, any suggestions?
Tire Rack is suggesting the following: Goodyear Eagle RS-A (High Performance All-Season) http://www.tirerack.com/images/headers/stars/3.gif
Yokohama AVID V4S (High Performance All-Season) http://www.tirerack.com/images/headers/stars/4.5.gif

B, is she driving in real snow in winter, or mostly cleared roads in temperate
climes? I thought I recall she was in VT in winter? |
If no serious snow, the Yokos win hands down, compared to the
mini van tires from GY, imo. |

Yes VT in winter |
Blue,
I had a set of Yoko Advans on my last co. car: good tire for dry and wet, not very good for greater NYC and Orange Cty in winter with snow, eg. Rt 17 in winter. This newer gen tire is better in all ways, I am sure, but I would not call it an "all season" tire; maybe a 3 season tire. I don't recall if your D's RAV was 4 wd capable, but I would think it's a stretch for serious usage as a "winter" tire in VT, but I don't live there. GL,mD |
The original equipment was :
Yokohama Geolandar G91A (Highway All-Season) for 2007 Toyota RAV4 Limited 4wd V6 http://www.tirerack.com/images/headers/stars/3.5.gif
