Requesting Suspension Parts & DIY Advice

Well, its that special time in a BMW owner's life when s/he gets to replace the suspension components. The dealer will not align it until the suspension components are upgraded. 114,500 on the stock OEM components.
MY QUESTION: Will someone please provide stock OEM BMW vs. a performance upgrade recomendation?(I know, BMW is PERFORMANCE out the door at the factory) I have seen references to AC Schnitzer for example on this site. Have performed DIY on Front End suspension parts before on other cars. For ex. adding Poly bushings & other "Gee Whiz" goodies but do not know what options exist in the BMW world. Have seen the one Suspension Upgrade posted here but do not think I need to lower my suspension 1.5-inches.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
I love DRIVING this car and would take great pleasure in doing this one myself (except the 4-wheel alignment of course)
Thanks,
SVS
