Aftermarket spring airbags: anyone used em?

Hi,

I don't have self levelling suspension (not a big seller here in Australia). I would like to be able to pump up the rear of my e53 a little when I am towing the rally car.

I have seen these on some cars, which you put inside the existing coil springs, and they help the spring a bit. ie: you keep your existing springs, and put some air in these when you want slightly harder spring rate..

Sold here: Suspension/Chassis: CTS-V Air Bags for Rear Coil Springs

Has anyone used something like this on an e53 rear?

I don't care if they're inconvenient to inflate/deflate: I'd only use them once a month or so; and have an air compressor handy anyway for the rally car...

I did a search on the forum, but couldn't find anything except references to the factory self-levelling stuff, which is WAY out of my pricerange as a dealer/indy fit...

Cheers + thanks,
Scott.

I don't think it has been done before (at least not on this forum) but there is always a first. At $80 it is worth a try and a better option than airshocks IMO.
