Which Blizzak?
Looking to get a set of studless winter tires, and (I think) partial to the Blizzaks. Looks like there is the WS70 and the DM-V1 (light truck). Im familiar with the WS70, and know that tread design is proven to be top notch... Is the X5 too heavy for the WS70 or is there any benefit to the DM-V1?

No experience with the models you cite, I used the LM25 and didn't get the wear i was hoping for. Always loved Bridgestone, but these let me down. Ride was good however.
Had some Dunlaps on an Audi S4 I used to own and really liked the ride and got good life. Might go there next time.. |
Blizzak DM-V1
I use the Blizzak DM-V1's on my E70 X5. They were new last fall and worked perfect this winter. They were recommended to me by Tire Rack as I was looking at the Dunlops and Michelins but stated the Blizzak were the better performer in the snow/ice. They are a little softer tread design and are not as high speed rated as the michelins but worked flawlessly and drive smooth. Should note I did not use RFT.
