Bridgestone duelers for e53 X5 4.4, h/p sport, h/p sport as, or h/l alenza?
 

I am about to get new tires for my 2002 X5 4.4 and can't really find anything comparing these models. Tire rack tested the h/p sport and h/l alenza on a 2006 cayenne but then the h/p sport AS on a 2012 cayenne so I don't really know what to make of the results.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these tires? If so, please leave your impressions or anything you have heard about them.

I am looking for a sporty tire that will be fun, excel in the rain, and offer a relatively quiet ride.

Had the duelers in 20" 275F/315R. They felt much more planted than the DWS' I'm currently sporting. Performance-wise they were a good all around summer tire.

I did have an issue with them after the second or third season, hence my DWS switch...

I have the sport a/s on my 18" wheels. Awesome tires! Very, very quiet. Only complaint is they may have lowered my gas mileage a bit compared to the Michelin a/s tires that were on there before. However, the ride, handling, and silence were worth it!

I've actually had these in snow! Winter Utah trip had us get caught in a freak nasty snow storm on a pass on I15 south of Provo. No issues. TC light never came on.

I ended up getting the Bridgestone dueler h/p sport AS tires and they are great!

Noise - very quiet on good roads, louder on rough pavement but never unreasonably loud.

Ride - on smooth pavement it feels as if the car is hovering half an inch off the ground on magnets. On bad roads you can begin to feel some road texture but never does it get uncomfortable.

Performance - they are everything I hoped for. Going around the highway on and off ramp turns I still haven't really found the limit of grip. As you go faster in a turn, it feels as if the outside edge firms up, holding you in the turn and keeping the car from breaking traction, almost as if you are kept on track by rails.

Rain - So far as good as in the dry. I haven't done much rain driving but they have yet to underperform.


Overall, very happy with this tire and would definitely recommend it. I was overwhelmed by the choices and didn't have enough feedback to go on but these tires really worked out well for me!

Glad to hear you're having great results with the Bridgestones. My 2009 X5 will be shod with 19" Alenza Pluses this Friday. I will provide some feedback after I log a few miles on them. Have a long road trip planned in the near future.

Forgot to mention the price. Costco has them on sale. for $931.00 out the door with TPMS service and 5yr Costco warranty.
