Not sure what you are referring to - can you elaborate?

Thanks for the insight Tom. I need your professional advice for my specific situation. I have a 2004 with DSP, Nav (16x9) and CD changer. Which part #'s will I need based on my configuration? The websites leave me a bit confused.

Also, it sounds like I will lose my changer out of this. Is there any way to retain its functionality?

You will need to determine if you have Analog or Digital DSP beforehand, here is a link describing the process and how to check your specific configuration:

http://www.europeanautosource.com/su...mod_id=2&id=11

If you have Analog DSP, this is the kit you will need:

ice>Link Plus: iPod for BMW
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=153

If you have Digital DSP, this is the kit you will need:

ice>Link Plus: iPod for BMW - DSP
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=241

As for the CD Changer, we are working on a new Source Selector at this time. Honestly, most people forget all about the CD Changer after the ice>Link Plus is installed.

German 01-2004 X5 3.0D with NAV, BT, cd-changer, analogue DSP.
Want to put the 3rd gen iPod in the trunk so everything will be done with the steering wheel and/or NAV display.
Don't like it when firmware is not user upgradeable.

Guess I should go for the Dension Ice>Link Plus right.

Any pics available of the 16:9 showing the search screen?

Firmware won't really make a difference since there is no more development on the ice>Link Plus. If you are using a 3rd Generation iPod, I would probably recommend the ice>Link Plus (we have a few left in stock), since there is no ffw/rew on the DICE due to firmware limitations.

My recommendation would be to get a newer iPod and utilize the DICE. Firmware is not something that needed to be updated on a frequent basis.

Here's the link to where you can find the last of the ice>Links in the states:

Or better yet, the DICE kits:
